Before becoming a counselor, Catherine worked as a teacher through Teach For America. Her experience in education inspired her to pursue a career in mental health and continues to shape her collaborative and relational approach to therapy. Working closely with children, families, and communities taught Catherine the importance of understanding the whole person and the many factors that shape their experiences. She believes that our relationships, environment, and past experiences influence the way we understand ourselves and navigate the world.

Although Catherine has experience working with children and adolescents, she is particularly passionate about working with young adults and adults as they navigate the complexities and transitions of life. During her graduate training in Chicago, Catherine completed her clinical internship at a private practice, where she worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, life transitions, relationship and family concerns, self-esteem and identity struggles, and feelings of being stuck or uncertain about what comes next. Catherine especially enjoys working with individuals who are seeking to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may be impacting their lives.

Catherine utilizes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing primarily from psychodynamic and relational theories while incorporating evidence-based interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other approaches based on each client’s unique needs. She believes therapy is a collaborative process and strives to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood and supported.

Catherine is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, where she specialized in child and adolescent counseling. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Texas A&M University.
