Ashlyn is a dedicated therapist with a deep passion for helping individuals and couples navigate the complexity of life with greater clarity, connection, and confidence. With a calm and compassionate presence, she creates a therapeutic space where clients feel safe to explore their inner worlds, strengthen their relationships, and move toward meaningful change. Ashlyn specializes in pre-marital counseling and life transitions, offering clients a supportive and structured environment to process the emotional and relational shifts that come with significant milestones. Drawing on over a decade of experience in wedding and special events planning, she brings a rare insight into the pressures, expectations, and dynamics that often accompany these important life stages. For couples preparing for marriage, she utilizes the research-based Prepare/Enrich program to foster deeper understanding, emotional attunement, and long-term relational health.
Ashlyn also works with individuals navigating the lasting impacts of complex trauma. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR®) and Somatic Experiencing®, two evidence-based, trauma-informed modalities that help clients process distressing experiences while reconnecting with the body’s innate capacity for regulation and healing. Her clinical work with trauma is grounded in neuroscience and attachment theory, emphasizing both safety and empowerment as clients restore a sense of coherence and self-trust. Ashlyn understands that trauma is not just what happened, but how it lives in the body—and her approach honors each client’s pace, resilience, and lived experience.
She practices from an integrative lens, drawing from attachment theory, emotionally-focused couples therapy (EFT), cognitive and behavioral interventions, person-centered therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and the mind-body connection. Ashlyn believes that therapy is a collaborative process rooted in relationship, and she works to build a space where clients feel deeply seen, gently challenged, and profoundly supported.
Ashlyn is a native Houstonian and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from the Houston Graduate School of Theology. Having experienced the transformative power of therapy in her own life, she is committed to helping others cultivate authenticity, healing, and a grounded sense of self.
Ashlyn’s unique blend of business acumen and therapy allows her to understand the intricate dynamics of life transitions, relationships, and high-pressure events. Her background in event planning and business management gives her a unique lens into stress, relationship conflicts, and the emotional toll of major life changes. Whether working with couples, individuals, or families, Ashlyn’s integrative approach helps clients find clarity, confidence, and resilience through life’s transitions.
Ashlyn offers a unique approach to complex trauma by combining EMDR® , which reprocesses distressing memories through bilateral stimulation, with Somatic Experiencing® , which helps regulate the nervous system and release stored physical tension. This integrative method allows clients to heal both the psychological and physiological impacts of trauma for more comprehensive, lasting recovery.
